Doctor Sleep

I have been wanting to watch this every since it came out. Well we rented it last night on pay preview.  3*** rating.

Now I have heard that I needed to completely watch The Shinning and read the book of that before I watched this or I would never get it, that's bullshit. If you are even familiar with the shinning you you're good, although you really dont even need to know that because it is discussed in the movie.

I love the paranormal element in this. But the paranormal elements origin I didnt care for.

Danny boy all grown up who escaped from The Shinning. He was a weak character in this movie. His acting just wasn't believable even as an alcoholic because I have had several family members who struggled with this addiction. I believed him even less as having abilities.

His costar Abra was way more believable and sassy little thing. I would have been fine if the story had just evolved around her.

 Rose The Hat she is my favorite character from this movie. I really wish they had gone into more depth on the history behind the True Knot. I would have loved to know how they grew their group of the knot but we dont get to know that history.

Mr Crow, mate of Rose. He is 2nd in command of this group. I enjoyed watching him and the interaction he had with all the characters as well in the movie.

But for all the hype that this movie got it only deserves a 3 out of 5 rating. It fell flat in a lot of scenes. It doesnt keep you glued to the tv screen. You're not dying to know what happens next. It's a thriller not a horror story.
