The Long Walk
She knew the road would lead her to here. It always did. Night after night she had the same dream for the last 18 years. But until tonight she never knew what it meant. Yet, she knew once she climbed those white marble steps that she could never return to her life as she had once known it.
No, being among the living wasn't her destiny. It just wasn't in the cards for her. Her life was meant to be lived out in the heavens. She was being called home. Home to serve humanity in ways that no human could possibly understand but that she would come to grasp the meaning of.
