Cruel To Be Kind
Title: Cruel To Be Kind
Author: Cathy Glass
Publisher:Harper Element
Genre: Fiction
Rating: 5*****Stars
Book Description:
Cruel To Be Kind is the true story of Max, aged 6. He is fostered by Cathy while his mother is in hospital with complications from type 2 diabetes. Fostering Max gets off to a bad start when his mother, Caz, complains and threatens Cathy even before Max has moved in. Cathy and her family are shocked when they first meet Max. But his social worker isn’t the only one in denial; his whole family are too.
My Thoughts:
This book was a bit different than any I have read in the past. This author has written about her own life and experiences as a foster parent.
At times it was cute. At times I smiled but there was a lot of times when I had to put the book down, stop reading for a bit.
Being a mother myself it was very easy to relate to the events and get emotionally vested in the story.
While I enjoyed learning what a foster parent, temporary child care provided does and must go through it will be awhile before I read the other book I bought by her.
She is a good author and I picked her book because it was so different from what I normally read and I was not disappointed. It pulled at my heart strings most definitely.
People who take on the role as a child care giver, temporary or permanent full time parent are strong people who make themselves vulnerable to help give another child the care they need. My hat is off to them.

Mountain Man Daddy's Christmas Surprise
Title: Mountain Man Daddy's Christmas Surprise
Author: Kara Kelley
Publisher:
Genre:Erotic Romance
Rating: 5 *****Stars
Book Description: A on going story from Mountain Man Daddy.
My Thoughts:
What does a cabin in the mountains, a bear, a mountain man named Mike and a woman named Avery have in common? One hell of a romance in a wintry setting that makes you thankful for the hot steamy scenes in this book. And yet there is much more to it than that.
Both Mike and Avery's world have been turned upside down when they met in Mountain Man Daddy. Avery is just as mischievous in this one as she is in the first but this time she has a companion named Annie who is their neighbor up a ways in the valley. But it's all for a good cause. Of course Mike, Avery's husband and Annie's boyfriend and farm hand Hal don't see it that way.
Avery is in for a surprise of her own. And Annie is surprised when Hal makes his feeling quite known. The family grows, old hurts are healed in the warmth of the Christmas season. This is a Christmas that Mike and Avery will never forget.

Her Hero
Title: Her Hero
Authors: Jane Henry, Maisy Archer
Publisher:Blushing Books
Genre: Erotic Romance
Rating: 5*****Stars
Book Description:
Donnie Nolan learned early that the secret to life is control. Born into a world of blood and violence, he broke free from the chains of his past with the help of Master Blake and his crew at The Club, and vowed that nothing would drag him back...until a knock at the door reminded him that there were some chains that can never be broken.
All Grace Diaz had ever dreamed about was freedom - freedom to control her destiny, to explore her passions, and to love the boy who'd always been her hero. But those dreams died the day Donnie Nolan left the neighborhood. Now thanks to her older brother's debts, Grace has become a pawn in a criminal chess game. Kidnapped and held by a man with ties to human traffickers, freedom has never felt like more of a dream.
Now Donnie must confront his painful past to save Grace. But what will happen when she realizes that he's not the knight in shining armor she once thought he was, but a sadist who longs for control? Will Donnie be able to reconcile his dark desires with his need to be... her hero?
Disclaimer: This book is intended for adults only. It contains raw elements of violence, power exchange, and mild BDSM, including the disciplining of adult women. If these offend you, please do not purchase this book
My Thoughts:
Can a bad boy be good? Donnie Nolan is just that. He was raised in a rough neighborhood, a kid of the streets but he had one soft spot even as a young man Grace Diaz. She was the sister of a friend and off limits but that never stopped the connection that formed between them as friends.
Donnie walked away from the bad boy life, left the neighborhood, became a man he could be proud of. And yet he finds himself returning to safe Grace. Grace is no longer the young girl who worshiped him from afar, she is a woman and the attraction is instant.
Feelings reemerge for both of them.Donnie is a man who is used to being in control of not only his life but others as well. Grace's innocence is not only a turn on for Donnie but also what makes him hold himself back. But in the end feelings, desires, a life of friendship becomes so much more between these two. And yet danger lurks at every turn. Can Donnie keep her safe? Will it be long enough for them to realize what is between them is real and worth fighting for?
This book is face paced. The characters are someone the reader will love getting to know. Yes, this book is part of a series but it is a stand alone. It's part of a series because all of the characters lives intertwine which makes the series worth reading and delving into as well. Jane Henry delivers and makes it possible for the reader to forget she's reading and not actually part of what's going on with the characters which is one of the many reasons I love reading her books.

Oceara
I looked it over from head to toe. What a strange thing it was. How did it get here is what I wondered. "So you're a human? Like one hundred percent actual human? I've heard scary things about you guys."
"About us? Look at you. Things like you swim in our oceans but dont talk or have arms and legs, just fins."
"You've got to be kidding me !"
"No man I'm not."
"Well then, we do have a problem."
"You think?"
"For a stranger on someone else's planet you sure are a smart ass aren't you?"
"Whatever."
"Come with me."
"Where are we going?"
I looked the human up and down once more. He didn't seem to be threat. He was too scrawny and short to be of any danger to anyone except himself. But that was not for me to decide."We go to see my Queen."
"Where the hell am I?"
"Well, you most certainly aren't in Hell. You're on Oceara."

The Time Had Come
"I'll never leave you. I'll be with you forever," she whispered.
"No!" The image that stared back at her caused her heart to stop beating for a fraction of a second.
"What's wrong Mother you look like you've seen a ghost."
"You....aren't real." A cold chill crept over her bare skin as she stood before the mirror.
"Oh but I am Mother. And just because you aborted me doesn't mean I'm dead."

On The Edge Of Darkness
She dances
On the edge of darkness
Never fully living
In the light.
How does one cope?
When they have lived
A thousand lives
And can never forget.
That the church bells
Are all broken
Shattered souls
Trapped within the shards
Of their existence.
What it wanted
I could not give
What it demanded
Was a fraction
Of my soul
Sealed in blood.
And yet
The Reaper
Reached out
To grasp
My hand
A bond
Forged in time.
As we danced
On the edge of darkness
So bitter sweet
Time had no end
And death no beginning
Except for a moment
That was never meant to be.
On the edge of darkness
Never fully living
In the light.

Edits
This is how I have spent the biggest portion of my evening by doing edits on 2 different stories. I'm working on edits of another one while my beta reader and critique partner have one story. This way I always have something going at one stage or another.

Beauty And The Beast
I watched this on Netflix. It took me forever to be honest because I absolutely love the cartoon Walt Disney version. And to be honest although I loved Emma W. in Harry Potter I am not a huge fan of her otherwise.
But this was a very well done movie. I was surprised because they gave twist to the movie story. Ones you wouldn't have guessed but made the movie even more enjoyable especially from a writers point of view.
I must say the Beast is my favorite character and always has been.
I really like him as an actor and he played a good Gaston. He had the arrogant male down to a T.
I think kids of all ages will love it even the younger ones because there is a lot of music and singing. This movie actually made me cry in parts.
