Horror Prompts V

Horror Prompts on Instagram @horrorprompts an @christine.writes

"They
said become a teacher. They said it would be fun." Hmpf, what a lie. It
had been nothing but pure torture since she agreed to teach at the
school for Ghouls and Gals.

"Mrs Clarice, Mrs Clarice," chanted
the female voice ever so softly. "Just let your eyes close and all of
your problems will be solved."

She saw the pendulum swing one more
time before the world went dark. It was so quiet. There was no sound.
She let herself fall deeper into the peaceful slumber.

"Did it
work?" asked Frankenstein. The group of gals and ghouls gathered around.
None of them could believe it. Finally, a hypnotizing spell that
actually worked. "Time to party."

"Hell ya, it's Halloween !"

The Ghost In The Mirror

Horror Prompts 7 & 8 please visit the creators Christine.Writes and Horrorprompts on Instagram for more.

Abby stood before the mirror but the faded image who looked back at her
wasn't her. She backed away not wanting to see anymore but when a hand
pierced the silvery confines Abby  sank to her knees and curled up into a
ball.

"Not again, no, not again," she mumbled over and over again.

The last time a ghost had broke through she'd been possessed for a month. She was still dealing with those ramifications.

Cold enveloped her, swirled through her veins taking root trying to force Abby completely out of her body.

"No!" Abby fought back barely managing to keep hold. Her limbs moved but not by her. Get the fuck out of me!

But
the ghost remained. Abby watched silently as she stood, moved towards
the door. Awkwardly, she opened it. Smiling she headed for the house of
the witch who had imprisoned her in the mirror so long ago.

"Revenge shall be mine!" declared the ghost within.

Horror Prompts III

Horror Prompts days 5 &6 hosted by Horrorprompts & Christine.writes on Instagram.

Alyssa frantically looked around her. She hated to admit defeat but
what else was there to do? She had started out on the old Hollow Path, a
well known hiking trail and somehow she'd managed to get herself lost.
She should have reached the end of the trail by now.  So where in the
hell was she? Where had the trail disappeared to?

"What are you doing up here?" asked a deep male voice.

Alyssa
froze the moment she heard those deep tones from behind her. Slowly,
she turned around. She breathed a sigh of relief as she took in the park
ranger.

"Oh thank god. I got lost trying to follow the old Hollow Path. Can you help me get back?"

"Why was you hiking the old Hollow Path? No one has used that trail in years."

She
tilted her head looking at him as if he had two heads suddenly. His
brows furrowed when she didn't reply. Now that she had a good chance to
look at him maybe she was wrong after all and he wasn't a ranger. She
took a deep breath trying to calm the ever growing anxiety that now laid
claim to her small four foot five tall frame.

"I asked what you
were doing up this way? It's rude not to answer." He took a step towards
her and she immediately backed up. A feral smile played across his
lips.

"I told you I got lost hiking. I need to get back. Can you help me or not?"

"Depends."

"Depends on what?"

"On what I get out of it?"

A chill swept over her making her tremble. She was losing daylight. If she didn't hurry she wouldn't make it back before dark.

"W...what do you want?"

"I
don't think you could give me what I want." He started to turn away
from her. Dismissing her as if she wasn't there any longer.

She
grabbed hold of his arm before he could get away from her. The last
thing she wanted to do was spend the night in the woods, especially
alone. "Lo..look I'll give you whatever you want as long as you will
take me back."

"Anything I want?"

"Yes, are you deaf? That's what I said. Now, can we please get out of here?"

"Your wish is my command lady." He bowed low before waving her on.

Another shiver chased itself down her body as he looked her up and down.

"I could have done worse," she mumbled not expecting him to really hear her.

He
grabbed hold of her hand in a steel like grip. He pulled her behind him
not giving her a chance to gain her balance along the way. Nearly
tripping she looked up. On the tree was a flyer.

Cannibal at large. Her saviors face plastered to it.

Horror Prompts II

 From June '22 Horror Prompts on Instagram from @Horrorprompts & @Christine.Writes . Day 3 & 4.

"Monster!"

A low growl rumbled deep in it chest as it moved
forward. Teeth bared. Claws where fingers should have been. Bristle hair
stood on end.

"My parents know where I am. They will hunt you down," declared Monica Van Hesling.

Its snarl widen as if laughing at her. Oh shit, that didn't work. Who said dogs were smart. Frantically,
she looked around hoping for a means of escape. Her screams filled the
air. In a matter of seconds another light was distinguished from the
world.

Blood dripped from it's mouth. Slowly, seeping into its
skin softening the cracked flesh. "Delicious," hummed the predator as
his fangs sunk once more into her neck.

Monster they may call
him, it mattered not. He had lived this way since 1869. But in this day
and age he preferred the term Werewolf.

The Doll

On Instagram there is 2 people hosting June Horror Prompts @Christine.writes & @Horrorprompts so here is mine for June 1 & 2. Enjoy.

Lightning swallowed the darkness. I could feel the house shudder. In
between the flashes I could see movement. No, that wasn’t possible.
Objects couldn’t move on their own and yet I could hear each scrap
across the floor as it sought my hiding place. It edged closer cutting
off my only route of escape.

I knew in that moment that I would never live to see the dawn. My nightmares had
come to life. I pressed close to the wall trying to merge with it. I
was desperate to disappear. “If there is a God out there now would be a
great time to prove your existence.” Why in the hell hadn’t I listened
to their warnings? I swallowed the lump in my throat. I was on the verge
of hysteria, each new moment bought me closer to madness. I wanted to
scream yet my throat refused to give voice to my terror.

“You’re my toy to play with now,” crooned the doll as she closed the final distance between us.
