"Such an odd painting. Its almost as if it were alive somehow."
She continued to gaze at the maze of muted greens, blues, greys woven over the canvas. She scooted closer trying to see the insignia of his ring when her vision blurred, all sounds in the gallery ceased. Her heart hammered in her chest. Her breathing barely visible as she muttered incoherently.
"I have waited forever for you." he rasped coming ever closer to her trembling form.
She turned to run from him but there was nowhere for her to run. She was already at the edge of the painting. The border of the canvas now her prison.
