I waited patiently for Thaddeus to come. I had his favorite color balloon. He always seemed to know when I was near. He never made me wait long. He'd come and we'd sit in the waters edge for hours. I had a feeling he was just as lonely as I was.
Thaddeus was almost as big as the ocean itself, or at least to a kid of eight that's how it felt. People were terrified of him but there was no reason to be. he has always made me feel safe, especially when I was scared that the ocean was going to carry me away forever from the ones I loved. I love the sea but will no longer play in its waters.
We watched the wind and surf play together while we sat and just enjoyed the day.
