It crawled towards her from the depths of the lake. A smile spread across her face. Tonight Jared would know what it was like to feel fear from the inside out.
"What do you wish of me?" the creature rasped.
She told the creature where to find Jared. "I don't care how you terrify him, but you will not kill him, am I understood?"
"Yes," it snarled.
"Killing him will come much later. I want him to suffer in every way to imagine first."
The creature smiled up at the witch before he scurried away over the dead grass to do her bidding on this cold dark night.
She hummed happily as she made her way back to her cabin.
