Across The Arid Sea

No cover for this book either.

Title: Across The Arid Seas
Author: Terah Edun
Publisher: Self Published
Genre: Fantasy
Rating: 3 ***

Book Description:
Marian has left her home in the woods to travel to her new home in the desert. The cost to join the tribe was her magic. But now she has to face one last challenge to fully become a member of the tribe.

My Thoughts:
A time of travel. trails, conflicts, and restoration of Marian with her new clansmen the Sherinsin on Algardis. A woman from lush lands and beauty of surrounding forest now finds herself married to Raydal a man of the dessert. But for her to become his bride she not only had to leave all she had known behind but had to sacrifice something dear to her own heart willingly to keep his love and be his bride. Was the price to high? Will she find acceptance among his people? Can she help them? Will it all be worth it in the end?

The author makes you feel as if you are right there in the very midst of the action, watching, holding your breath to see what the outcome will be. I would love to travel to Algardis and experience its domain for myself and within the pages of this story I did just that very thing.

Tam Lin

Title: Tam Lin

My Thoughts:

Janet Reynolds is a woman from America touring Europe but when she gets to her last stop on The Isle Of Skye she gets more than she ever bargained for. The tour was just the beginning. The Rose Hedgewitch

There is no cover for this book.

Title: The Rose Hedgewitch
Author: Terah Edun
Publisher: Self published
Genre: Fantasy, Young Adult
Rating: 3 ***

Book Description:
Maggie is the gardener in charge of the queen's rose garden. Her only job is to get rid of any blooms before they flower. She dreams of bigger things.

My Thoughts:
For such a short read it was packed full of emotion and a sadness that made you wish that beauty never died and that blooms could go on forever and they almost did. But even in decay and death there is still a bit of magic left to be had. This story ended all too soon I would have loved for it to be longer and experience the full extent of magic that remained for just a little while longer.

The Crack

Quietly Maria tried to motion for him to leave but he stood at the edge of the tree line. She could hear the crackle of the leaves under the skeleton's feet as it moved closer. She didn't need to turn around to see it. The light seeping out of the door beckoned her but did she dare get any closer? Could she get in it before the skeleton grabbed her in it's bony clutches?

She slithered across the cold dead ground. her hands stretching out ready to grasp her prey.

"You can run all you want human but you will never get away from me."

He looked back at the banshee and still she followed his frantic running form. He could see his flesh melting away. He knew he was running out of time but that didnt stop him from trying to escape his fate.

"Come to me human and I promise the pain will be no more."

But still he refused. Thinking he had a choice.

The Wild Becomes You

Title: Wild Becomes You
Author: Ashley Sapp
Publisher: Create Space
Genre: Poetry
Rating: 3 ***

Book Description:
A collection of poetry that explores personal experiences with mental illness, trauma, grief, and ultimately, the hope for embracing one's wild and everything that journey entails.

My Thoughts:
I read this on a recommendation from a favorite book you tuber. I enjoy poetry and short books which this is both. I wanted to read this because it deals with anxiety and depression which is something I suffer from so I was excited to delve into the pages. This book is dry. For most of it I was disconnected and bored reading something that is supposed to be overwhelming with emotions, descriptions of depths some cant imagine themselves to fall and yet most of it I was left wanting.

The best parts of this book though were sections where the author gave us personal insight to her own battles. Pieces titled Simply Be, Showing Up, On Suffering Twice, Why Write? Uncertainty Rings True, Drought were the ones that spoke to my soul. The ones where I knew she understood the war one wages against these things.

I do hope to see more from this author. I look forward to trying out more of her writing because she does have great potential and a fair bit of talent.

Call Of The Wild

His spirit called to her in the dead of night, begging her to find him, for only she could save him. It was torture living in a human body but being a wolf. The human body resisted one's being. Every night he walked to the edge of the ledge and called to her.
She was on the prowl and had been every since he'd disappeared. Where could he be? She felt him. She knew he lived still but something was wrong. The last remnants of her meal dangled from one paw. She only stopped long enough to eat so she could continue onward. She would go to the ends of the earth to find him.

For All Time

Days like this she sat on the bench letting the wind whip her soul. The days grow cold and dark, and yet here she sat, waiting...waiting for what she wasn't quite sure.

She knew where her heart was, where it had always been. A soft smile touched her lips as memories washed over her soul ravaging her mind, never allowing her to forget. Why was it so easy for him to forget, forget who she was, forget what they had been, forget a life that promised them both the end of the rainbow together.

She wasn't the one running. This was home. This is where she would be when they buried her but he couldn't understand why she could never just pick up and leave the place she called home. A place where her roots ran deep.

Her tears kissed the sky as they soaked the ground. Would he ever return?

Her soul dances upon the ether as she waits, but will she forever be a dancer of one?

The Biker

Title: The Biker
Author: Jolie Day
Publisher:Self Published
Genre: Erotic Romance
Rating: 3 ***

This is a prequel to the Outlaw.

Book Description:
Marc “Angel Face” Kelly
Aloof. Dominant. Damn sexy.
And knows it, too.
The man with the face of an angel is on the run from his past and wants a new beginning. But his old buddies from the biker gang still have a score to settle with him.

Lauren Stanton
Cool. Collected. Vulnerable.
She, too, has a past that she wants to forget.
She has found a new home in the small town of Slightuckett in Narragansett Bay, where she feels safe.

Marc literally slides into Lauren’s life. Both immediately feel drawn to each other, but Lauren is afraid of the handsome, dominant man. And Marc can deal with pretty much anything, except a woman who gets under his skin.
5

When Lauren is in danger, he has to decide: does he really want to desert the woman who awakens such strong feelings in him?

My Thoughts: First off I am not much into Biker stories, especially after being spoiled with S.O.A.. This short story was fast paced and well written. Who could resist someone such as Marc Kelley? And any hot bloodied american woman would have been swooning at his feet just like Lauren. A little hot summer sexual adventure just what the doctored ordered although at the time she didn't quite realize it. I enjoyed this short story and look forward to more of Jolie Day's work in the future.

Torment Me

Title: Torment Me
Author:Annabel Joseph
Publisher: Scarlet Rose Press
Genre: Dark Erotic Romance
Rating: 5*****

Book Description:
Chere isn’t happy with her life as a high-class escort, but she can’t seem to find the motivation to change. Then she takes on a mysterious new client who won’t share his name, or even allow her to see what he looks like. Their first session is a headlong tumble into tantalizing sensation and fearsome control that leaves Chere picking up emotional pieces she didn’t know she had.

“W” is roughly seductive, and dominant to the core. His demands shock her as much as they turn her on, and soon the line between bad choices and emotional fulfillment becomes alarmingly blurred…

Note: This book is super rough. There’s love, but it’s rough. Hence, Rough Love series. This full-length novel is book one of a three-part storyline that culminates in Happily Ever After. But, full disclosure, it’s going to be a rough ride

My Thoughts:
This book took me to places as a reader I had yet to go. I actually expected to be disappointed by the claims of how dark it was and how boundaries would be crossed that would change both the characters and the reader. The author kept her promise.

This book delve into emotions that makes you sit back and wonder along with the characters about what is truly going on. This book is explosive, in your face, and will make you uncomfortable but keep you so drawn into the story that you just cant stop reading. You have to know what happens next.

This is not a stand alone book the characters story continues on in Taunt Me. This book is not for the weak at heart. But if you are brave enough to delve in you will find it so different you will want
to continue on with the next book.
