My Thoughts:
I read this on a recommendation from a favorite book you tuber. I enjoy poetry and short books which this is both. I wanted to read this because it deals with anxiety and depression which is something I suffer from so I was excited to delve into the pages. This book is dry. For most of it I was disconnected and bored reading something that is supposed to be overwhelming with emotions, descriptions of depths some cant imagine themselves to fall and yet most of it I was left wanting.
The best parts of this book though were sections where the author gave us personal insight to her own battles. Pieces titled Simply Be, Showing Up, On Suffering Twice, Why Write? Uncertainty Rings True, Drought were the ones that spoke to my soul. The ones where I knew she understood the war one wages against these things.
I do hope to see more from this author. I look forward to trying out more of her writing because she does have great potential and a fair bit of talent.
