The Door

"Don't turn that key," Lindsey looked around guilty as if at any moment she expected someone to find them. If grandma ever found out about this, there would be hell to pay. She had only seen the elderly woman angry once and that was enough. She still had nightmares over it.

"What are you so afraid of?" Lindsey challenged her younger sibling Sandy.

"Grandma !"

"Oh don't be silly Grandma isn't home. She will never find out that we went in there unless you plan on tattling?" She stared her sister down trying to act all big and bad. Sandy wasn't falling for it.

"You know I wouldn't do that. I'm not a tattle tale, but we shouldn't be doing this."

Lindsey turned back towards the door. She felt like a kid at Christmas time waiting to open her presents. Nothing was more exciting than that, well maybe, birthdays were, but this was extra exciting because they had been told as long as they could walk to never go near this door, never try to go inside of it. And no one would ever explain why they couldn't.

"What if there are monsters in there?" whispered Sandy.

"Oh quit being stupid ! There are no such things as monsters," Lindsey declared rolling her eyes at her sister. She turned her attention back to the door and started pushing the skeleton key in.

"Yeah right, and Grandma told us magic wasn't real either, but now we're witches and it really does exist."

Lindsey just stared at Sandy, her hand immobile. The key barely sticking in the keyhole. Sandy did have a point, but monsters weren't real just stories made up to scare kids into behaving. She had always been fascinated with this door and what lay beyond it. And now she finally had the chance to discover its hidden treasures and her little sister was trying to put a damper on it. She should never have told Sandy what she planned on doing.

Sandy took the opportunity to grab hold of Lindsey's arm and pulled her away from the heavy oak door. She pulled her back so hard they collided. They tumbled to the floor a mess of tangled limbs and long hair.

"What did you do that for?" accused Lindsey.

"What do you think? Duh !" She swiped the hair away from her face. "We're not allowed in there !"

The key clattered to the floor. Before either of them could retrieve it, fingers swept out from under the door swiping the key out of sight. The claw like fingernails scraping the floor as it retrieved the key.

"Holy shit ! Did you see that?" asked Lindsey. Her eyes almost popping out of her head. A cold chill slithered down her spine. Fear gripped her in it's clutches holding tight. "There...there is someone in there !" She practically screamed at her sibling.

"Yes," her voice trembled as she held tighter to her sister. "I told you we shouldn't be messing around up here. I told you not to try and open that damn door."

"We have to find out whose in there !" She tried to pry loose of Sandy, but she held tight. "Let go of me !"

"No. Lindsey, please no !"

"We can't just let that person keep being locked away ! Why would Grandma lock someone away in a room for and never allow them out? And why do we not know who it is?"

"I don't know and I don't care ! Let's just go back downstairs before they figure out how to use that key and escape."

The Nun

Oh my lands what a movie. It is most definitely a horror movie. It is one of the best I have seen in a very, very long time.

This movie is part of the Conjuring, and Insidious Key movies.

The writers for this movie really knew what they were doing. If the above picture doesn't make you take a second look the one just above these words should freak you the hell out.

This is a movie that young children should most definitely NOT see. This movie messes with your head as well as giving you the chills that will stay for hours afterwards.

But this movie also puts in what people refer to as Easter Eggs in the movie. I doubt that many have caught on to them. I dare not reveal them though because that would give things away.

If you love thrillers, horror movies especially then go see The Nun.

The Darkest Minds

A movie review

When I first read the description and watched the trailer I thought it was a Spink off of X-Men but it wasn't. I was very happy about that. While I have enjoyed several of them movies I wanted something quite different.

The only thing I wish they had went into more detail was how this happened to the children, why it killed some and others gave extraordinary powers or abilities to.

The kids were separated by colors of their abilities. Children who showed abilities were rounded up and put in camps cause the government convinced parents that they had a cure. The only safe colors to be was green, blue, yellow and if you happened to be red or orange well your fate was sealed.

That is until 1 girl named Ruby.

Official Trailer

Rating: 4 ****Stars

There will be a 2nd movie cause of the ending here in 1 and honestly I want see how they finish it. I hope they don't run it into the ground like they did with X-Men.

There is also a book out about the movie but I am not going to get it. I'll wait for the 2nd movie.
This is the cover of the book.

Movie Night

I went and spent the evening with the girls and hung out with Kristina. She rented a movie I had seen before but she hadn't. I enjoyed seeing it again though.

I can't wait to buy this and add it to my collection. Then she turned me onto one of her favorite movies titled Me Before You

Trailer for it

This is going to be another must add movie to the collection. It made me cry but I also laughed and loved the sarcasm throughout the movie.

It was an evening well spent.

Venom

Rating 5*****Stars

This is about an alien life form that comes to Earth and finds a host to co exist with here. I can't say much more because if I do it will give it all away. But if you love action and enjoy Marvel movies then make this a must see one.

Climbing The Walls

They said she wasn't supposed to remember but she did. She remembered every twisted moment that she was forced to live in that facility. This would be the last time they ever got the chance to hurt her. Ivy crept along her skin tentatively reaching out to touch the brick wall that was a barrier between her and the rest of the world. The ivy supported her light athletic body as it rounded the top of the wall and shimmed over to the other side. She never made a noise. At last she would be in control of her own life.

An Idea To Consider

How To Write A Children's Book

Today, I have been You Tube hoping. I have a couple of ideas bouncing around in my head. My reading taste have been changing a lot. Yes, I still love my dark erotic romances and always will but I find myself looking over the YA and children's books whenever I go to the store. I pass the adult section rather quickly because it is ALWAYS the same old same old. But yet when you go to the kids section there is a variety of books and age ranges.

I love to write and that is something that will always be a part of me. But the very 1st book I ever wrote was for our first son. And then I wrote Burnt Offerings which the MC-main character was a young girl between the ages of 8-14.

My flash fiction is all over the place which makes it really fun. But that is really all my flash fiction is, is short snippets to make a person think and ponder on the bigger picture of what could be but doesn't necessarily mean it needs to be taken further.

But I am maybe thinking of going back to writing something with a young MC and see where this will take me. But before I put pen to paper I might make a library trip or two and see about delving into some children's books and the different age groups. Sometimes research can be fun, lol.

Sky Watch

I came out of the store and seen this beautiful sky especially after all the rain and cold we've had for the last week or so.

Just wonderful colors.
